Sonal has over 15 years of experience understanding the art of business medicine. She is a nationally recognized thought-leader, speaker, author, creator, and consultant. She is the founder of SP Collaborative, LLC.
Sonal proudly holds certifications as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) from the AAPC®, the world’s largest credentialing body for the business of medicine. She is also proudly certified from the Practice Management Institute® (PMI) as a Certified Medical Coder (CMC). She is highly proficient in ICD-10-CM and stands ready to master ICD-11-CM when it becomes a reality in the United States.
Sonal is an active member with the AAPC®, the American Medical Billing Association® (AMBA), Health Care Compliance Association® (HCCA), the National Alliance of Medical Auditing Specialists® (NAMAS), and PMI®.
Sonal is currently on the BC Advantage Editorial Board. Sonal is also a published author in numerous industry publications, including AAPC®’s The Magazine and Knowledge Center Blog, Lexology, JD Supra, as well as two chapters in HCCA’s 2021 edition of the Complete Healthcare Compliance Manual.
She serves as the creator and host of her weekly Paint The Medical Picture Podcast series which has dropped over 240 episodes, listened to in over 80 countries, and is currently in its fourth year. It has remained in FeedSpot’s Top 15 Medical Billing and Coding Podcasts for 4 years.
